Mental Health Therapist 


JOB SUMMARY
Pride Counseling Services is hiring a Mental Health Therapist to deliver high-quality mental health services using evidence-based interventions to our targeted population of LGBTQ+ people.  Our environment is a people-first, self-management organization. OUR FOCUS

Our focus is to help LGBTQ+ individuals heal, energize, and become empowered through counseling. We use the Minority Stress Model as a framework for understanding how discrimination, prejudice, gender norms, and racism results in higher occurrences of psychological problems. We work with multiple sexual and gender identities including kink/BDSM, polyamorous relationships, consensual nonmonogamy, pansexual, gender nonbinary, gender nonconforming, and many other identities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Delivering mental health services including, but not limited to diagnostic      assessments, individual, group and/or family therapy sessions, referrals to supportive services and/or external providers, and ongoing client support.     


QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in clinical social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
  • Current with all state licensing requirements.
  • 2 years of experience in providing direct, clinical, mental health services.
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility, profession, and industry trends. (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Experience and proven capacity working with LGBTQ+ people.
  • Ability to work with children and adolescents.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
  • Credentialed as a mental health/behavioral health care provider with major health      insurance providers in Minnesota.
  • Professional competence and/or certification in trauma-informed care and/or sexual      health.
  • Other applicable professional certifications.
  • Proficiency in a second language other than English.
  • Individuals with lived experience or a passion towards our target population of LGBTQ+ people are encouraged to apply.


WORK HOURS AND BENEFITS

Work hours are flexible with a minimum of 25 billable client sessions per week. Therapists are paid a set rate for each billable session plus admin time. Pride Counseling Services has a mix of in-person and telehealth appointments. Telehealth appointments may be conducted from your home. Health insurance and Paid Time Off are offered to employees as company benefits. More benefits to come as the company grows.
